Burns' Monument on the Banks of Doon
19th Century Steel Engraving
A fantastically lush and detailed scene, with a man playing a pipe for a milkmaid in the foreground. She holds a flower in her hand; a dog lies nearby, the cows sit further on. Burns' monument, for the poet beloved by all Scottish people, is in the distance. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The plate impression is clearly visible. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 7-1/2 inches by 4-3/4 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
