The Corsairs Isle
Frontispiece to The Poetical Works of Lord Byron: Steel Engraving
The best steel engraving in a 19th-century illustrated volume was usually the frontispiece, and this is no execption. This fine picture shows men with telescopes looking over a huge bay, with a castle in the background. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is about 3-1/2 inches in diameter. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
