The Delectable Mountains
19th Century Steel Engraving
In this intensely-detailed print, some travelers in shining armor and other semi-mytical garb arrive at the foot of a rocky mountain. At the top is a marble city; below is a pond and beautiful gardens. The drawing was by H. Melville, engraved by A. Le Petit. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The plate impression is clearly visible. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 5-1/2 inches by 3-3/4 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
