Greenwich Park and Palace, Old London in the distance
Fine Steel Engraving
Here is the view known to millions of tourists today as a pleasant London park and the site of the Royal Greenwich Observatory. It overlooks London as it must have looked in the early 19th century. The tower in the foreground was built by Humphrey, Duke of Gloster. The river below looks pretty much the way it does today, except for the tall-masted ships that are there in the engraving. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 5-1/2 inches by 4 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
