Neuha
c.1830s Century Steel Engraving by J.T. Willmore (George Virtue Publ.)

Neuha Neuha... The Fond, the faithful, the adored
Her heart on Torquil's like a torrent pour'd;
And smiled, and wept, and near, and nearer clasp'd
As if to be assured 'twas him she grasp'd.

The print illustrates the poem, "The Island Canto III," and shows a barefoot maiden and a man who has just sailed into a lagoon with a landing party. The sun sets in beyond his three-masted ship. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage except for a tear in the lower margin, not affecting the image area. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 6-1/2 inches by 5 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
