This fine portrait of the great Anglo-Irish poet (1730-74) is from the 1883 "Diamonds of Poetry and Prose." Goldsmith was in Samuel Johnson's circle, and made his name with both comedies and novels, including The Vicar of Wakefield.The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other flaws. At the bottom is a facsimile signature. The print is lightly age-toned, and is printed with a lovely blue-green ink on heavy paper, blank on the reverse. The original tissue guard is intact.
