Palace of Holyrood
Fine 19th Century Steel Engraving by WH Bartlett

This print shows many layers of detail, in the tradition of the great WH Bartlett (engraved by A. Willmore). In the foreground are some ruins apparently being excavated. Below, the workmen seem to be heading home. Beyond that is the village -- the houses show great detail. Then the huge castle itself. And beyond, the rocky hills, shown clearly enough to be a picture from a geology textbook. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 7 inches by 4-1/2 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. The image area is flawless. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
