The Port of Justice, Palace of the Alhambra, by M. Fortuny
c.1887 Gebbie & Co. Photogravure, printed by Goupil
Men sit in conference sit in the elaborate portico of the Port of Justice. Camel seats lean against the wall, and a guard with several knives hunkers nearby. And, in front, legs and arms bound, are the prisoners. Some birds flit in the courtyard, oblivious to the drama. Ominously, the near-noon sun seems to creep closer to the convicts, taking away their only shade. The print is in excellent condition with no signifcant age toning. The image area is flawless. It is on very heavy paper, and printed in a beautiful sepia ink. The plate impression is clearly visible. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being 12 inches by 17 inches; the image area is 9 inches by 7-1/2 inches. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
