Spring and Autumn
1875 Steel Engraving from D. Appleton
This composition is from a bas-relief by F.J. Williamson. Seated in front of an alter to Ceres is a young, semi-nude girl, "Spring," and on the right is a matronly figure, "Autumn." The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. Descriptive material from its 1875 publication will be included. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The original tissue guard is intact. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being 13 inches by 10 inches; the image area is about 8-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches.
