Thus Departed Hiawatha
1883 Wood Engraving
Hiawatha sits in his boat on a lake beneath a spectaular landscape. The scene, of course, is from Longfellow's deathless poem; the lines "Thus departed Hiawatha / To the land of the Dacotahs" are printed in the lower margin. The print is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on medium-weight paper, and is blank on the reverse. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being 9 inches by 6 inches; the image area is 7-1/2 inches by 4-3/4 inches. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
