View on the Coast of Letland, Near the Nofs: Moonlight
19th Century Steel Engraving from R. Cadell, Edinburgh
This coastline scene would be a picture from a fantasy book, except it really exists in Scotland. Here, a man in kilts playfully runs after a woman. Behind, the Moon rises with an otherworldly cloudscape surrounding it. The print, by W. Collins and W. Miller, is in excellent condition with no discoloration or other damage. It is on heavy paper, and is blank on the reverse. The plate impression is clearly visible. The margins are bigger than shown here, the print being about 10 inches by 6-1/2 inches; the image area is 5-1/4 inches by 3-1/2 inches. There are four pinholes near the edge, well away from the image area, where it was stitched into the original volume. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
