Painted Stork and Woolly Stork

The normal means of transit within the park is a bicycle carrier. Our guide (with the binoculars) is called Captain, and if you're ever in Bharatpur, he's your man.

A monument in the park records the number of birds bagged by various visitors in past years. Now we bag 'em by the number of species observed. Thanks to Captain we "bagged" 75.

Captain said the path leading to the hole was a python track. I was a little skeptical at first, but then I stuck my camera down the hole ...

The wetlands in the park have been clogged by water hyacynth, an invasive species. Local women work all day pulling them up by hand.
