Prakash, Glorian's sponsor here, invited us to join him and some of his family members to come along to see the festivities, as Bombay celebrated the incoming of the New Year. We went for a drive, watching all the party-goers in their fancy clothes coming into various hotels, all the cars driving along the sea doing as we were, and people just having a good time waiting to see midnight arrive. We finally parked and walked to the vista along the sea – along Marine Drive, so we could see the rest of the Bombay skyline in the distance. Marine Drive is also called the "queen’s necklace" because it a sparkly necklace-like strip along the sea. Even before midnight, the fireworks started up, all along the necklace. It was a pretty good display! |
